Dart Shuttle - Landsdowne Road to Dún Laoghaire - 16/01/2010:

On Sunday 21st February 2010 due to engineering works on the DART line a rail replacement service was operated for Irish Rail by Dublin Bus between Landsdowne Road and Dún Laoghaire Station.

The routing taken was Dún Laoghaire Station, Crofton Road, George's Street, as per route 7 to Ballsbridge, Shelbourne Road, Landsdowne Road (former Route 45 terminus), Pembroke Road, as per route 7 to Dún Laoghaire Station.

Four buses were noted on the route today, though there was probably more as Dublinbusstuff could only spare a short time at the Landsdowne Road terminus. The buses noted were AV132, AV134, AV136 and AV147. Pictures of AV132, AV134 and AV136 are shown on this page.

Interestingly, as shown below, AV136 showed some ingenuity by displaying 111 Dún Laoghaire on its DMD. In reality, from observation, most passengers used the service between Landsdowne Road and Dún Laoghaire Stations only, most passengers I'm sure relying on the more direct city-bound buses from in-between locations on Route 7.
