When is a diversion not a diversion? From Monday 1st July 2024 the 41X departues from Knocksedan or Swords Manor will be diverted from Seatown Road for the next 2 years as the section of Seatown Road at the junction of North Street is closed to facilitate the construction of the Swords Cultural Quarter. For this period the 41X will serve Swords Main Street and the Pavillions, losing its stop on Seatown Road but gaining a few on its new routing. However, this section of Seatown Road is not to be served following the Bus Connects implementation for Swords, the X79 and X84, the new numbers for the 41X, both serving Swords Main Street. So will a service return to this road or was Friday 28th June the last day of service?

The 41X has been serving this section of Seatown Road (from Swords Castle to the ByPass) since June 2008. Also, Swords Business Park was served by morning/evening 41s since 1998. The morning service started with one service via Swords Business Park, but this would increase to 3 services via Swords Business Park and 1 direct to Swords Business Park only by 2011. These services via Swords Business Park served the Main Street in Swords and then used this section of Seatown Road looping in and out. The services to/from Swords Business Park would stick to the By-Pass avoiding Swords Village. In 2018, a new timetable heralded the introduction of the 41D for services to Swords Business Park. All services now were to/from Swords Business Park, none via, and "officially" buses travelled via Swords Main Street and this section of Seatown Road in both directions. However, for at least the evening peak service, this "official" routing was not used. In early 2021, the "official" routing was changed to as it is today, direct to/from Swords Business Park in both directions not serving this section of Seatown Road or Swords Main Street.
